PAHANG TAMPANG $1/100 TIN HAT MONEY (1878)

Pahang Tampang One  Hundredth Dollar Or Quarter Tampang 1295A.H. (1878).
Rarity:RR/SS20.
In 1847, a smaller size Tampang of the value of $1/100 (One Hundredth of a dollar) or 1/4 Tampang were issued. These were the equivalent of 1 Cent of the Spanish or Mexican silver dollars.
In 1864 Bendahara Sewa Raja Wan Ahmad issued new Tampangs. Though these Tampangs were also in denominations  of $1/100 and $1/25,their weight ans size were reduced considerably. All former issues of Tampangs of the earlier Bendaharas were withdrawn and replaced with these  new issues. Gradually the weight and size, especially of the $1/100, was reduced even further until they looked almost like the ordinary series of coinage.
